I’m proud to announce that I’ll be representing “Team USTA Serves” in the upcoming ING New York City Marathon being held in November!
I’m running to support not only the game of tennis (and my own personal fitness goals) but also the mission of USTA Serves, the National Charitable Foundation of the United States Tennis Association. It strives to support, monitor and promote programs that enhance the lives of at-risk children and individuals with disabilities through the integration of tennis and education.
Over the course of the next few months, our USTA Serves marathon team will be promoted via the USTA Serves website, newsletters and press releases. I’ll also have access to my own personal fundraising page and will be working in accordance with USTA Middle States to raise funds and awareness for this great cause and my racing efforts to support them.
I’ll keep you posted on any fundraising events or exciting tennis related news we have in relation to this race. Hope you’ll be able to support this great cause for me, Just Tennis, the Philadelphia Area Team Tennis Association and the USTA Serves foundation!
When all is said and done, I hope to successfully complete my first marathon, meet some fellow runners and tennis/community development enthusiasts, and help at risk youth succeed in school, on the tennis court, and of course, in life!
