12U Recap vs. Radley Run

Heat? What heat? On Saturday, June 1, the Just Tennis 12 and under team played a solid match, endured some summer-like conditions, and emerged victorious over Radley Run by a score of 4 matches to 2.

Despite the scorching 95 degree heat and the unfamiliar “Har Tru” clay surface, there was some entertaining tennis played! Our players were sliding, grinding, and communicating their way to some nice wins.

Boy’s Doubles: Luke and Tim displayed  great teamwork and won the match 6-3. They did a good job of closing the net and offering positive reinforcement to each other if an unforced error was committed. Great job guys!

Girls Doubles: On the far court, Audrey and Sneha duplicated the boys effort by defeating Radley Run’s girls 6-3. They played a very well organized doubles match, communicating well, covering the court, and relying on consistency to knock out Radley Run.

Boys Singles: In this match, Sean fought hard, scrambled for balls, and really played 1 ball at a time, but in the end, he lost to a very consistent, deep-hitting Radley Run player by a score of 2-6.

Girls Singles:  Sahar used her lefty game and clever drop shots to win a close match at girls singles, 6-4. This was the last match of the day and it was during the hottest part of the day, so great job Sahar for getting through it!

Mixed Doubles 1: Jason and Julia definitely came out swinging this match. They used consistency, good net play, and deep, penetrating shots to earn the quick 6-0 win.

Mixed Doubles 2: This was a long one! Sophie and Akash had some marathon points against a consistent Radley Run twosome and lost the set 6-7 (6-8) in the tiebreaker. I definitely lost track of time during some of their long points. They did a good job keeping the balls deep and avoiding the net players.

Great effort! The spring JTT season is almost over, but its great to see the chemistry between players this late in the season. We’ll be continuing and expanding upon our programs this summer so they can keep practicing together and are a force to be reckoned with in the fall!
